JUNE REVEAL : RAK #2

JUNE REVEAL : RAK #2

Postby Niru » May 28th, '16, 7:40 pm

Who is ready for another chance to win tonight?

School is already done for us this year. When I was a kid we used to have school into mid-June I think. It was a while ago, lol.

What are your plans for summer vacation? We will mostly be staying home but I love taking the kids on little adventures around Austin.

Leave a comment below for a chance to win $5 for the Daisy store.

No plans for us.
day trips to the lake with our little ski boat.
fishing on the river.

Then in August Bill and Jameson will be taking a road trip to Aurora Illinois to bring Jameson to college. :'( We both can't go so I am forgoing the trip to let the guys have some time together. It's going to be a rough goodbye!

Summer for me is always working in the vegetable garden and preserving the fruits of the harvest. I try hard to squeeze in a scrapbooking day/luncheon with good friends bi-weekly.

Oh, Denise, that is going to be hard!
So proud of Jameson, though!!

We will be sticking close to home, taking some day trips to the beach.
Jeremy may take a summer school class. Still time to decide.
We have a few colleges to check out for him, too.

We will be going to the American Girl Store in Columbus and then sight seeing around Ohio as well. I will enjoy the break in a well planned school year, but will miss it as well! #momlife

Thank you Lisa! Is Jeremy feeling good about college? Did I tell you Conner wasn't going to go until late July last year. Then he took a couple of classes, then 5 and he loves it! I just never knew what to think and thankfully let him figure stuff out.

Miss you Lisa! hope to be back on the boards here after next week. Mom is coming for graduation and then things get pretty normal.......well relatively speaking!! O0

Hopefully we will get a lot of pool time in this summer, and in August we will be staying at the beach for a week.

My internet at home is offline for some reason. No definitive plans but boating and fishing on the St. Lawrence River, Ontario

Summer means long course swim season for us with travel to the western part of the state for Champs in July. We are hoping to spend a week and a half out in California around Yosemite but a lot will depend upon whether the kids decide to go to Eastern Zones in New York... Both have qualifying times, neither is sure they want to go. Given that that is not cheap, we can't do both. I'm hoping for a family get away.

We're going to be taking a road trip to North and South Dakota this summer. My husband has never been and we just got a new car so that's our plan. Other than that, just enjoying the pool, boating and the fresh produce!

Darlene I love to can! Haven't done it in years but I miss it so much. What do you like to preserve?[/quote]
Denise, I can most everything we eat all year; beans, home canned pintos, tomatoes, fruits I buy in bulk, peaches. I was disappointed that my blueberries sort of turned to mush last year. I make homemade preserves, strawberry from my own plants this year, blackberry and blue berry. I can a lot of bulk meat purchases; chicken, beef roast, homemade vegetable soup. I joke and say if it sits still long enough I will can it. Tastes so much better when it's homegrown and home canned.

Darlene that sounds so wonderful!!
So healthy and delicious. Someday I will get back to doing that. It feels so good to be self sufficient that way. :)
