MAY REVEAL: RAK #1

This RAK is all about exotic travel as Marrakesh is about the most exotic place I can think of.

Where is the most exotic place you have been?
I'll pick one random person who comments to get a $5 gift certificate to the Daisy Boutique.

I have visited Abu Simbel in Southern Egypt and Siwa Oasis near the Libyan border of Egypt, Bethlehem on Christmas day. For work I travelled to Entebbe Uganda and did a tent safari in the Ngorogoro Crater in Tanzania! Was very lucky to be able to travel before kids and husband arrived, very blessed!

That IS exotic Sylvia!

I think I have to say Bali is the most exotic place that I've been.

Makes my Bali seem bland! Lucky you to have been such truly exotic places!

The most exotic place I've been is Hawaii. Would love to visit a lot more places but money seems to be a big obstacle!! I will just have to visit them through books and others.

OMG I forgot, now I am pining for our traveling days pre kids and pre MS, we had our honeymoon in Fiji in the South Pacific and we took a camper van around the North Island of New Zealand, soooo fun!!! Unforgettable honeymoon! Now this American is living in Ireland for nearly 20 years! I was born in Maryland, and my parents retired to Oregon which we are visiting this summer with our two girls again...we go for about a month every second year...Michaels and Joanns here I come!

In trying to answer, I realized I wasn't sure of what I'd describe as exotic! There is the beautiful -- like Hawaii, Great Barrier Reef, Cinque Terre or there is remote and different -- like Haiti or maybe Budapest or Marrakesh!

I was born in West Berlin, West Germany, before the wall came down. Does that count as exotic?

I haven't been to very exotic places so far. But the places were beautiful nevertheless: for instance Samsœ in Denmark, or Gyula a Puzta town in Hungary. The funniest place I never visited but always found totally hilarious when driving by was Lederhose in Germany.

Exotic is in the eye of the beholder. I know that's not how the saying goes but your back yard could be exotic if you made it that way. Know what I mean?

Travel is a luxury that not all of us can afford. Or some of us would rather spend that money on papercraft supplies! ;D

My most exotic places were done while backpacking with money I earned from a temp job, and I was lucky enough as a secretary to be sent to Africa for work! Definitely our trip to Fiji and NZ was a splurge but we used camper vans lol so not lap of luxury... our travel is definitely more limited now with kids and university looming in the years ahead...so grateful I was able to grab the chance to travel when I did....thought of another very remote place I visited on my backpacking trip: central Turkey and the amazing moon landscapes of Cappadocia!! Will stop talking about my travels now....I miss that freedom!!

My travel life has been pretty boring, but I taught a class at the Cocoa Daisy scrapbooking retreat on the Island of Mykonos, it was beautiful there! Jeffrey and I want to go back there on our honeymoon.
