JANUARY REVEAL: RAK #2

I would love to know if you participate in the idea of the One Little Word from Ali Edwards.
Do you pick a OLW for yourself? Are you willing to share it here? Are you going to scrap it?

This will be the 4th year I have a OLW. It has been a big part of my focus each year and I look forward to the process of choosing my word each year, too.

For me for 2013, my word is: FUN

A lot of what I am looking at for 2013 is potentially scary, overwhelming, intimidating … but, I feel like if I approach it all as if I am having FUN trying something new, taking a chance, putting myself out there … then it will all turn out OK.

I did OLW last year - "Believe" and it was a good one. It turned out a bit differently than I anticipated. I'm still thinking on 2013 word

I know what the concept is but not the details of it. I need to check it out and see if it's something I'd enjoy.

My word for this year was "Stronger" and it's been great having that word in the back of my mind all the time.

I love Stronger Christine. I love words and love OLW. It's really a wonderful way to focus your thoughts and dreams. I am not sure yet what mine will be. I always take my time deciding.

Honestly, I haven't given it much thought for the coming year. Maybe I can give it a go this week, while its still slow enough to have a complete thought. lol

I love the idea of a word or theme to focus on for the year. I scrapped a "hello 2013" mini for this month and in it I put little quotes and words that I want to keep in the forefront of my days as I go through the year. My favorite line is, "This year I want to soar higher" and so I have chosen SOAR as my OLW.

Here is the page...but I added a bunch of extra {cute!} details to it today.

I love your htoughts, Diana. Fun when life's events might not be so is the perfect way to approach them. And stronger must have worked for you, Christine. Because you seem to just be so on top of things- inside and out! I hope 2013 is a great year for all our words! ;)

Last year, I chose the word "grace," but I really didn't craft anything based on that word. I'm thinking of choosing the same word this year...giving and getting grace are concepts I always need to remember! :)

I love Ali's concept and have had OLW's for a few years now.
This years word was Embrace
and I made this page half way through 2011, when I decided what 2012 was going to be about
Image

I've found 2012 to be full of challenges and I have embraced them along with the opportunities that have come along.
I am really looking forward to the new year and what it is already holding.
Haven't decided on a word yet, but there will be a page created about it :)

I do pick a word - Cleanse for 2012 - didn't scrap it, but did try to cleanse all aspects of my life - mind, body and soul.

This is a tough one for a few reasons and since I'm new to this board no one would know what i've been through the past 3 years. I lost my husband of 19 years to ALS, a terminal motor neuron disease a.k.a. Lou Gherig's and he died within 10 months of diagnosis October 25, 2009, and on July 17th, 2011, I was the sole witness to my boyfriend's accidental drowning. I know I am "stronger" for what I've endured but hope for a "brighter" future filled with happiness, health and love.

Sylvia, I am happy you are here, and so sorry for such tragedy and loss in your life recently. I hope that you will find happiness in new and beautiful ways in the coming year. Many blessings and prayers for you as you move forward and seek good things.

Cleanse is a good word too! Maybe I should make that for my kids. ;)

I am sure you will find the perfect "word" and I am sure it will embrace all you need for the year.
I like what Jody said, about moving forward and seeking good things. You have been through a lot (hugs) and I thank you for sharing it with us here.
I hope you share your 2013 word and your creations here too :)

I have never really done anything like this but I might just pick a word this year. I have started art journaling and canvases so I think I need to do this!

I chose the word "Savor" a few years ago and it really was perfect for me... I'm a former chef so it's a great culinary word, but it's also a great reminder to really enjoy what's around me. Since that time, I've experienced some loss in my family and I've lost sight of the good things in my life. I should refocus on the positives for 2013. Let me think of a new word.

Sylvia, I'm sorry for your loss. Hugs to you.

I think I will give this a try. My word this year will be completion. I have so many incomplete projects, most of which would be so easy to finish if I just put them on the table and put on the finishing touches.
Completion in 2013.

I've done OLW for the past several words and my most successful was "peace" in 2011.
This year I am going with a three word mantra. A little different. Same concept.

We'll see how it goes. :)
