Winter CHA 2016

Postby SuzannaL » Jan 1st, '16, 9:59 am

Manufacturer's and companies are beginning to release collections and product for winter CHA, what have you seen that you NEED or would like to see in future kits?

I have played with Simple Stories new collections and think you will need Life in Color! LOL!
I need the BB/IF She Blooms collection, yes, NEED! :)

I just saw the catalog for She Blooms and sent it to Christine. Here's hoping it works with a coming kit!

I really like a lot of the stuff in the She Blooms line from Bella Blvd! I have never really gravitated toward their lines because it's not my style, but I do like this line a lot. I'm guess Shanna Noel had a lot to do with the design direction and I love her style SO much. I haven't gotten into the illustrate your bible trend (I love my bible, it's not that, I just haven't felt like decorating it to that extent), so that part doesn't interest me, but I do love most of the paper (even if you're not religious I think these would be great!),

Emily I'm with you on the bible journaling. I love my bible, love reflecting and love my craft but can't put them all together. I don't NEED (yes, need!) any of it for bible journaling but just everyday crafting! Would LOVE, love, love to see She Blooms in a kit! I'll have all the add on's please!! I can see the DITL cards that compliment already - GORGEOUS!!!

It must be a challenge to keep the interest of consumers with new products each season. How do they do it?

I, too saw some of the She Blooms products and initially it caught my eye. Recently, more examples were on a couple other seller's sites and it made me think that there is a lot of resemblance with some of the products of the past seasons i.e. the + signs in gold and black on white paper; the watercolour effect flowers (we've had a few of those papers in CD kits); the type that looks so much like Wilna Furstenburg's type and so on. Now I don't know how much of it I would want again. Difficult choices for the ones assembling kits, I am sure!!

I am liking the softer, subtle hues and less sharpness in graphics these days. Just cycling through my likes -- my albums of a few yrs ago were mostly filled with softer, subtle etc, followed by more dramatic colors and design a few yrs later and now I seem to have cycled back to the softer touch. I expect whatever comes in the upcoming kits will have a mix!! That's what I like about them.

I have such a back stash of lines and I agree with Shannon. A lot of what I see is very similar to what is in my stash. That's why I love what Christine puts together. She does what is the hard part for me, putting it all together. While I'm just doing the DITL kits right now, I am not ruling out buying the main kit now and again - even with my big stash. I was seriously contemplating this month's main kit but I see it's now sold out. Whew, saved my pocket book from more purchases. I did buy the papers though ;) ;)

OK, I'm back :)

I found lots of pretty things!

I am super excited about May Flaum's new line of embellishments:

And those two things you picked Ashli, they coordinate perfectly! I wasn't aware of May's embellies! They are sublime, aren't they?

Now that more of the manufacturers' have strutted their wares, what is everybody saving their pennies for?!
Emily please share with us what you have fondled and seen in person while out in sunny CA!

I need to know more about the Heidi Swapp Minc mist spray, it's intriguing to me! I also believe I need the Distress Crayons. Shimelle's new line is adorable and non-themed, every day life which appeals to me, especially with the bright colors. And while not a big pastel person, the new Crate collection, Bloom, makes me happy. Those mini tassels are adorable.

Very excited to learn about Mai Flaum's embellishments. This is new to me. Since, I have a Tim Holtz addiction, I'm really excited about many things -- new picket fence ink, the trimmer (I can't find one that works for me), the new background stamps are fabulous, small version of spray stains, and a few new dies. I'm really concerned about my ability to fund my addiction.

LOL!! I am right there with you on that one Doris!

Yes, funding these scrapping investments does become concerning. I like the cash back option... Shhh... don't tell. LOL! My hubby thinks we spend much more on groceries than we really do. :) <--- BIG cheesy grin.

Today I spent more time talking and catching up than checking out paper lines. I promise I'll be more focused tomorrow!

There are some really cute things here and I'll post pictures to IG tomorrow so you can see. I'll go to the HS booth for you Suzanna to find out about that spray. I did see some cute papers in the Paige Evans line (I am a B side girl and there were some really fun ones in her collection!) from Pink Paislee. I also really liked a lot of the embellishments from Jillibean Soups and Hampton Arts. I hope we see a LOT of them in upcoming kits. Maya Road had some super cute mini tassels! LOVE so much of what Simple Stories is putting out this season.

AND cutters! We found a new company with a coooooool system. It's on the higher end of the price scale, but they guarantee you'll never have to replace the blade because it's self sharpening. So I could see it being worth it! Cutterpiller is their name.

There's a good energy at the show, I'm excited to get out and explore more tomorrow!
