QOTD 02 February

Question of the Day

QOTD 02 February

Postby Funky Fairy » Feb 2nd, '15, 9:02 am

What other hobbies do you have aside fron scrapbooking/pl/planner/cards related?

My biggest would be Florida Trip Planning.
I know it sounds odd, but I love it.
I visit a MB for Brits traveling to the US but it's mainly geared up to Florida.
It's so informative. My favourite section is people like me keep a journal whilst we are there and take loads of photos and then we write up our trip reports in great detail incl prices of everything for each day.
Here's my finished 2012 report so you can see what I mean.
http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=658432

I love reading other peoples reports. I've learnt so much.
They are often quite funny too.
You get to know people and their families once they've already done a report.
It's a nice group to belong to.

It took me a year to do my last trip report.
They are very time consuming but so so good to look back on.

I also love cooking/baking.

I love to garden but unfortunately, I've gotten so busy the past couple years that I've lost a little joy and don't have the time to spend in my garden beds. All part of my word for the year "Present" to do what I love and not what I don't

I love to crochet, especially amurigri which is making little stuffed animals, etc. I've made favorite characters for my kids and their friends, like Indiana Jones, Link from the Zelda video games, and Grr from Dexter's Laboratory.

I also love to embroider.

Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming with how many creative hobbies I am into, but I would say quilting is a big one for me. I also love to stitch/embroider, paint and draw, oh, and read of course.

I really do feel that hobbies make life so enjoyable. I know a few people that don't have any hobbies at all and they are quite antsy and usually end up spending way to much time in front of a screen. ::)

You have your reading though Laura.
You must read a fair bit with your book group?

Oh boy! opening a can of worms here. I love reading, painting, puzzles, card and board games, sewing, crocheting, DIY-anything, photography, baking and cake decorating, calligraphy, travel. I need more than 24 hours in my day or the ability to be fully rested on two hours of sleep! LOL
And then there's all of my sports and outdoor activities.

I only dedicate time to knitting/crochet now, but I think that's pretty good for me. :) I love doing other things, and was really into sewing, quilting, gardening, and reading in the past, but it's just not the time for me to be doing that stuff right now. I've come to terms with it. :)

Lisa, what a fabulous document of your trip! thank you for sharing it and yes, I bet it took a lot of time.

Yes, as everyone has said....wish there was more than 24 hours in a day. Other hobbies include cycling (since hubs turned 60 we take an annual cycling trip), traveling, hiking, windsurfing, all things pug (lot of events in the SF Bay Area), cooking, reading and needlepoint, unfortunately, all mutually exclusive. And like Emily, coming to terms with not doing it all.

I am trying to a better job of being ok with not having more hobbies. I like lots of creative pursuits, but I would rather focus on one and really enjoy it - and that for now is papercrafting for me. I do other things from time to time but I am putting my all of eggs in one basket and just loving the scrapbooking. I am so impressed with the knitting, quilting, and so many other beautiful endeavors - I just can't pull them off right now.

I love to read, garden and do some crocheting. Love playing games on my kindle. I also love drawing zentangles. I'm not very good at them, but they're fun. Also our whole family loves camping, so we try to do that a lot.

I play video games. It's a family hobby and it's not uncommon for my husband, son and I to be playing multiplayer co-op together.

I love hiking, spending time with family, being a foodie, going on adventures. I was a once upon a time gym-goer; hense ONCE lol I definitely should get back into that. Oh and I love cooking :) That was once upon a time-ish too since it's just easier to go out and eat these days- but I am working on that as well! I love reading your answers and getting to know all of you.

I don't have any other time for other hobbies, but I do LOVE to read and do that before I fall asleep each night. I use to cross-stitch too, but that's been awhile. I tend to bake a lot too.
