3/11 Movies

Question of the Day

3/11 Movies

Postby DeniseM » Mar 11th, '13, 7:47 am

On my mind today because I saw Anna Karinanna on Thursday when I took the day off to lay on the couch all day. I loved it. So interesting the way they filmed it. It was beautiful.
Have you seen any new/new to you movies lately that you love?

I watched Anna Karenina on Friday night. I *liked* it, but I thought the way it was filmed
took away a bit from the story. However, I love Keira Knightley. She did a fantastic job,
and I am now a fan of Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Those blue eyes and curly hair! *swoon* :)

I should add that I saw Safe Haven with my girlfriends a couple weeks ago.
It was a bit different than the book, but I did enjoy it.

With the Oscars top of mind, we went on a little bender and saw Argo, Silver Linings Playbook and Zero Dark Thirty recently. They were all such great movies!

I also saw Identity Thief. That was hysterical and I totally recommend it.

The last movie I saw was It's a Good Day to Die Hard. lol Not really thought-provoking, but entertaining. It's raining like crazy here today... perhaps I should rent a good movie. I need to see if some of these Oscar nominated movies are available. Thanks for the recommendations.

Zero Dark Hour was the last one I saw. Not sure if I liked it a lot or not.. I mean, it's not the average film to "really like", but I guess it was ok.

And I HAVE to see Operation Argo soon! I know, it's not a new one, but going to the movies isn't something I get to do a lot.. :D

I went to see Les Miserables a couple of weeks ago. I was with some neighbor ladies- we all loved it. Now I am anxious for it to come out on DVD this month and watch again at home with Chip. We saw a theater production of it on our annivesary years ago and have loved the score and story for so long.

I thought the movie was great! It was better than I had thought it was going to be. Which is always a nice surprise when you go to the movies, right?!

I now see from the other comments here that I have some movies to add to my "to see" list! :)

I loved loved loved Les Mis...they did such a great job with it...

My Dd and I saw Safe Haven when she was home on Spring Break...it was cute (and Josh Duhmel is a hunk :-* )

We rented Flight last week also w Denzel Washington.....I thought it was going to be very different from what it was ( I thought it was going to be a thriller type movie but it was a character study of Denzel's character...he was really good)

Silver Linings was good, and I really want to see Argo and Identity theif still!

This is the first time in ages we've seen so many movies - it's a benefit of having older kids!!

Lisa- we loved the Vow too!!!

We watched SkyFall on Thursday, I liked it much more the second time, I knew I would. I bought it for my sweetie.

I really don't like James Bond movies and haven't watched Skyfall yet.
I keep being told that it's 'different' though.

I know what you mean about Daniel Craig. Not my cuppa tea at all, but when I saw him in 'the girl with the dragon tattoo' I saw him in a whole new light. That film by the way was far too much for me.
