SUMMER 2014 CROP - CHAT - Your Local

Postby Funky Fairy » Jul 19th, '14, 10:45 am

Do you have a favourite local cafe, bar, pub, restaurant that you go to?
Why don't you share the details here.

We've recently started going to our local pub alot more.
It's about a 5min walk down the road and through the woods :)
Ade clocked it on his cell yesterday, it's less than half a mile from us.

It's been done out really nice recently and feels so clean and relaxed there. (the restrooms are really nice)
It's spacious inside and welcomes families and has a really nice menu. We can easily all eat there for $40 and the food is freshly cooked and really good.

The garden out the front looks out over the commonland , we love sitting out there with a drink.
It's our new favorite place to go.

gah!
that's absolutely gorgeous!
there isn't a place in my little town i go to...every thing here is commercial and chain
there is however a charming little speakeasy decked out in 1940's flair serving up drinks made from that time period that is amazing...the servers all wear 1940's garb even! they offer nightly live entertainment as well...
in the city that's beside us about 20 minutes away.
i don't get to go very often but i love it when i do...we even try and dress with a little 40's flair ourselves :)

we have so many local faves. one really awesome place is a fish & chips place (i know. not eating many chips lately, but this place is still so awesome) that is a double decker bus and all the eating is outside.

i couldn't find a photo of the place full on but here's what i've got. :)

it's so yummy! everything is all made from scratch in the place. the owner evens makes the tarter sauce herself. :)

Our favorite local eatery is a breakfast/lunch place called BoatTown Willy's. They serve up the best breakfast omelette, called the Willie Wonder. Hash browns are inside!! YUM. Although I usually ask for hashbrowns- out- because I like them crispy.
We rarely go there for lunch, but even if we do, I still order the Wonder.
Now I've gone and made myself hungry... LOL.

Our fish and chips looks like this.

Traditionally served up in newspaper but nowadays due to health and safety it's just paper.

Oh, I wish we had places like that. But no. We've only got pizzerias, hamburger places and (quite) expensive restaurants nearby.

We never eat out... with kids throwing forks... (see the chat thread ::) ) and not liking anything but pizzas or hot dogs, there no point really. I was just thinking during our crazy dinner tonight that J and I will have to explore and enjoy food A LOT when the kids are out of the house... :D :D

Your place looks lovely Lisa and Alissa, that sounds so cool. Willie Wonder sounds fab too! :) And Jessie - that sounds so nice! :)

Hm... I want to go out and eat...!

Anna, we've always enjoyed going out for coffee as a family.
As you know Louis is our fussy one. As long as there is a plain croissant, then he's happy.
