Reading - Now that the Holidays are behind us

Postby LauraC » Dec 28th, '14, 2:06 pm

What is on your reading table? Or queued up on your e-readers?

I started "Gone Girl" before the holiday freak out and just started back into it last night. Kristin Hannah books were 1.99 at Amazon yesterday so I loaded up "Night Road" that I want to read. I still want to read the other Divergent books too. So much to read, so little time to do it! I'm also still working on my grandson's baby blanket but only have about 1/3 left to go. Apparently, babies can't have blankets until they are six months old now ??? ??? ???

I got Station Eleven in my stocking so it will be first up. I have tons of books in queue on my kindle, though. Got a notice from Amazon that a book I pre-ordered this summer is available on my kindle now. I didn't even remember purchasing it! That'll be next.

I read Gone Girl several months back. I won't comment anymore here as I don't want to be a spoiler.
;)

I plan to do my #26in52 again this year meaning a goal of reading at least 26 books in 52 weeks.
I have a small amount of Allegiant left to finish up in the Divergent Series. Have had Unbroken on my shelf for two years now I think and want to read it before I see the movie.

I finished 'The Fault in our Stars' before Christmas and have started 'The Bay at Midnight'. I bought it a few years back and never read it. I'm a few chapters in but not hooked yet.

i had challenged myself to read 52 books this year. suddenly i was in november and realized that i needed to read 20 books in the next six weeks to hit my goal. you'd think that would have motivated me, but i still went in spurts. now i am on a mission! i finished one i had half started, monstumologist by rick yancey, and then plowed through if i stay and where she went by gayle foreman last night. now i'm at 49 books! need three more in the next three days! i may have to cheat . . .

I am reading Defending Jacob. Very thought provoking about the families of the accused and the pain they go through with little support.

Can't wait to check out some of the these other titles:)

I received Tina Fey's "Bossypants" for Christmas and am whipping through it. I adore her.

That was on sale this week on Amazon or Barnes & Noble, Lisa and I didn't get it. Now you make me want to read Bossypants. I love Tina Fey too

I have been reading a non-fiction book I have had in my shelves for many years...Anatomy of the Spirit. I am kind of wanting to learn more about chakras and energy. Has anyone read any good books on this topic?

As a school librarian I am constantly reading something. I usually read Middle Grade (grade 4-8 or age 9-14) books so I can keep up with what my students are interested in and make recommendations for them. But last year I got to missing adult books. I love murder mystery/cop & lawyers type books. So now I try to read a bit of both.

I am on Goodreads as Olivia Martin. They have a reading challenge for 2015 and I have committed/challenged myself to read 100 books this year.

Right now I am reading The Sea of Trolls by Nancy Farmer, which is a book we are reading for our 5th and 6th grade book club.

I am looking forward to reading The Black Box by Michael Connelly which is sitting on my nightstand waiting for me.
