Hair Cuts

Postby Funky Fairy » Sep 30th, '14, 5:59 am

How often do you get your hair done or cut?

I'm the laziest person with my hair.
I have it trimmed once every 8-10 months and that's it.
It doesn't get dyed, styled or anything.

But I have just been for a good cut.
A friend trimmed it for me a few months ago, but I didn't really get the layers and cut that I needed and it's gotten so so long. It was just hanging in my face. I have so much hair though that I have to be careful that I don't look like Crystal Tipps. I used to when I was younger, the days before I never realised that you don;t brush curly hair.

I've just had inches off and good layers put in and it all thinned out.
It feels so light and bouncy.
Just what I needed :)

That sounds so nice Lisa! I'm like you... everytime I cut my hair I tell myself that next time I'm going to get it done a bit earlier than the last time. And everytime it's suddenly been several months again. :D I really should have it done soon!

I probably go every 3 or 4 months, which is a long time between cuts considering how short my hair is. But Maegan gives me such a good cut that it grows out really nicely. I just had mine done on Friday, though, and it is a wonderful thing to have a fresh 'do. I smile at myself when I catch a glimpse in the mirror. "Lookin' good, Flaherty!!" I say with a wink and double guns. ;)

I am like you and Anna, Lisa. I can't remember the last time I cut or colored my hair. Luckily I do have nice thick hair! I do need a cut though, it's too long. It looks lovely when I wear it down but I hardly do. My grey hair definitely has a wave to it and my hair can look bushy like that as well Lisa. I have to have a certain cut.

ohhhhh i am so lazy about hair maintenance!
in fact i think i may go get my hair cut twice a year?
i usually colour my hair when i do...but i have been fighting an inner battle with this...wanting to embrace aging gracefully...including greys...but the the last time i coloured my hair i went red...so as it grew out, the red went brassy...my roots were like 6 inches...greys started coming in and i started to feel really really really frumpy, lol
so i just had a cut and colour friday...and i really love it and how i feel...the last time it was cut and coloured was feb? march?

Lisa, how do you pronounce your surname?

Denise, is your grey different to your dark hair?

Jessi, the new hair sounds good :)

I always put it off as long as possible, my hair is a chin length bob so I should be going every 6-8 weeks but I can put it off for months! I always feel so much better after breaking down and getting it cut but I still drag my feet every time.

Martha, is your hair naturally that straight or do you have to straighten it every day?

I usually get it cut 3-4 times a year, and I agree with Denise....the gray hair is a lot more wavy/curly than my dark hair ever was. I've not colored it in six months now.

I get it cut and highlighted one or two times a year as I grow it out to donate to Locks of Love. My hair doesn't grow very fast so that's good on one hand, a not on the other.

i rarely dry and style my hair either. My stylist always compliments me on how healthy my hair is (now my skin? not so much-not blessed in that department-it's sensitive to many things and dry) and I attribute it to less fussing, drying, flat ironing, etc. And I am a tomboy at heart, so ponytails and top buns are my go tos. I hate wasting time on primping-steals aways from family time and scrap time! ;)

I used to get my hair cut about every 5-6 weeks when I lived in Vancouver. I had the most entertainingly flaky hairdresser. I could walk in and say 'cut it all off!' and he'd give me the best super short cut. Loved that.

But now I probably get it cut 2-4 times a year. I simply haven't found a hairdresser who can give me a cut I love. I've had some horrid cuts when I asked for short styles. So I've gotten nervous and simply pull in into a ponytail to keep it out of my face. Past time to try again. :-\

Yes Lisa, my grey hair is wavy. My non grey hair is smooth and straight. It makes for some interesting texture!

How funny.
You would just think it's the same hair but a different colour.

I get mine cut every 6-7 week. I do have a lot of hair too, and mine tend to look flat and like a helmet if I don´t cut it regular. And I do feel like it´s an affordable luxury...

i go every 4-5 weeks. my cut is high maintenance, in that regard. (though easy daily.) i have a TON of grey hair. but i color that on my own with semi-permanent color. i just can't justify the cost of cut + pro color every month.
