Weekend Plans?

Postby Funky Fairy » May 30th, '14, 10:33 am

Happy Friday Ladies!!
What on the agenda for you this weekend?

The boys have gone to watch England at Wembley, so it's a girls day.
We went for coffee first thing. A long dog walk this afternoon.
We've just watched a movie whilst I worked and now I need to pack for my crop that I'm hosting.
I've got all my class stuff ready, just need to pack my own scrappy stuff.
I've also baked a lemon & poppy seed bundt cake to take to the crop.
I hope it comes out of the tin ok.
Then I'm taking Hollie to the local pub for dinner.
I want to go sooner rather than later as we have to walk through a little bit of woodland to get there so don't want to come back in the dark.

Tomorrow I'm hosting my first crop. I'm rather nervous :)

And Sunday our family gym membership starts back up again. We've take a few months break but we need to get Louis swimming again. So the plan is for regular family swims. So Sunday is swim & wings. They do the best wings at the hotel there.

So that's our weekend.

I hope you have something nice planned.

Sounds like a nice weekend's ahead of you, Lisa!

IT'S MY FIRST WEEKEND WITHOUT ANY MARKING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE SINCE AUGUST!

Can you sense that I'm more than a little excited?

All grades were reported on Wednesday, now I just have to prepare a couple of more lessons for the year and prepare an oral exam for mid-June.

School's almost over, y'll!

Today I'm going to a colleagues house for the annual (although the first one for me, as I started this job last fall) BBQ party. Bringing two bottles of wine and a cheese cake.

No plans for tomorrow and Sunday, but the forecast is good, so I guess some sunbathing is in order.

No plans here.
Our two oldest girls are going to a Girl Guide rally in Toronto, at Canada's Wonderland (big theme park/amusement park). They're leaving at about 8 in the morning and won't be home till 10 at night.
So it will be Paul and our two littlest girls at home...... when this happens we always say it's like we've been snapped back in time to a decade ago, when Paul and I had just two little girls.

Waving at Margarethe! You've been missed - I see your posts on Instagram but I can't read what you are saying (is there a translation button for Instagram????)

I sort of invited myself for a bonfire tonight at my brother's house. I miss them. Don't see them nearly enough. But then again, I'm pretty busy. Of course, this is after work and my stop at the local greenhouse to finally get my plants!

Yardwork and garden earlier part of tomorrow and then a wedding and reception. Sunday is church, work earlier shift at funeral home and then home to work some more in the yard and garden. POOF - the weekend is gone.

Hubby and daughter are in the process of putting down some gorgeous laminate flooring in my tv room. I'm pretty geeked at the transformation. The stinky Harley the Wonder Dog was stinking up da joint in that room because we spend so much time in there. Carpet just wasn't cutting it anymore. My daughter really wanted to buff and scrape the original 1860s flooring but I said no, I just want a usable, easy to keep up with flooring right now. Maybe down the road, some day.

Hey Denise! We need updated pics of the shelving unit. You really inspired me to make some small pick me up changes!

This weekend is turning out to be so nice weather-wise. Hoping to either get some plants today or go to the beach (maybe a bit of both?) and then tomorrow I might try to do a little clothes shopping because I've realized that my wardrobe has not caught up to the weather AT ALL! :) Zoey needs some summer sandals too so...that's an excuse to shop right? ;D

Sounds like everyone is in for a good weekend. Jarad is at the fire station today, so we are having a pj day here. But then Wyatt had a bit of a melt down and now that we've all made up - they are watching Ice Age and I am desperately trying to complete the printing of seven weeks of PL photos. I just finished up 4 out of 7, so I am getting there. Got a LO from the May kit on my table of the kids from the first day of school and the last which is nearly done - hope to complete tonight. Waiting for 5pm so I can have a glass of something and eat some chocolate. We have having breakfast for dinner to complete our pj day!

My plans changed late last night, so I ended up digging out grass and expanding the tree ring in the front yard. It looks SO nice! We bought a bunch of perennials, but the day was long so I stopped. I want to go to a different nursery on Monday to see if they have some rudbeckias.

why is it that weekends go by so fast??

Our weekends are filled up with running kids around, Dave's soccer games, homework, housework and other time filling events.
I would love a weekend that was filled with sleep ins, book reading, movie watching, late breakfasts, time at my scrap table, eating out or....
I dream but don't complain lol

It is amazing what a difference digging out some grass can make! If you lived near me I'd send some potted up rudbeckia right over... we have dozens and dozens of extras in our garden right now!

On Sunday I always say I need another day in the weekend.. we don't even do that much, but with all six of us home everything is just always busy (as I'm sure you know, Sharmaine!).

My birthday weekend has been awesome! I had friday off (my birthday). Had an appointment and then got some new shoes or walking. Quiet rest of the day. Yesterday, I went to Seattle with my mom on the train and it was a long, awesome adventure! :) Today, more resting and laundry and a few groceries at Trader Joes to be purchased. Such a nice lovely, sunny weekend!

I'm glad to hear you had a lovely birthday weekend Alissa! :) Happy belated birthday!

I've been checking in here, but it's been so very busy with family life that I haven't really had the chance to chat. Thursday was a public holiday and J and the kids also had friday off, so it's been a 4 day weekend for us. We finally celebrated Alva and Tuva with J's mother and one of his brothers + family on Thursday. Yesterday we did some geocaching and it was fun and really nice to get out in the woods for a while. We've been doing some garden work and we've been playing lots of Mario Kart 8! :D Sooo much fun!

Inspired by a friend who ran Stockholm Marathon yesterday I decided to give a "from couch to 5k" training Schedule a try! I have neeeever done this before and I am a real crappy runner - I usually say that I must have a hidden asthma or something, because I can't breathe :P. There's a long way to go and I have no idea if I'll make it, but I do feel kind of inspired at the moment at least. (That may change quickly, but every little step I take is better than nothing... ) Wish me luck! :)
