Easter Weekend

Postby Funky Fairy » Apr 18th, '14, 1:22 am

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

It's Good Friday here in England today.
Do you all call it that?

What plans have you got?

We have a 4 day weekend over Easter.
We sister and her family are over this morning for the day.
We have a table booked at our local pub we can walk to for lunch and we plan a long walk and some den building over at the big country park that we can also walk to, just 5mins away.

Tomorrow we are heading to the mall for a wander and I've just realised that I've doubled booked us :(
I made plans last night to take the MIL out for coffee. Whoopsie!!
We'll have to head out earlier so I can still do the coffee abit later.

Easter Sunday we have nothing planned and not for Monday either.

I hope you are all doing soemething nice.

In Norway it's called Langfredag (long Friday). Not much planned... the weather is supposed to be nice this weekend, and the sun is out today. Hope to relax a bit in the sun, read and rest. School's been out all week, but I put in a few hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Not so much yesterday. I went to work, but felt really bad with a migraine-like headpain and nausea, so went home again pretty soon to rest. Know I need to rest, but with 70 essays (some students have yet to turn theirs in...) and 25 test papers, I feel slightly overwhelmed. Got some of them done on Monday and Tuesday, though, but still have lots to go.

Tomorrow will be dinner at my mom's. Leg of lamb, which is a tradition in Norway.

It's "long Friday" here too, and we have no plans. The weather is a bit grey today, but it's supposed to be really lovely the rest of the weekend. We have a 4 day weekend here too and then the schools are closed next week and J have taken Tues-Thurs off. Still, no special plans but to relax and work in the garden a bit etc.

I hope you're able to relax a bit, despite the heavy work load Margrethe!

Happy Easter everyone!

Good Frday here too. We used to have a half day off but a couple years ago, they did away with that so it's just another work day for us. If we want to attend church services, we need to apply in advance for a personal day. SO I'm working today - have a get together with friends tonight and just hanging out tomorrow and meeting family for dinner on Sunday.

We'll be working on trim and plumbing of the kitchen tonight and tomorrow. We get our countertops on Monday, I'm so happy! I can unpack and cook!!!!

Sunday is going to be different since I still am not fully equipped in the kitchen. It's tricky figuring out what to cook with limited supplies. I had the missionaries from my church over on Monday and we had pancakes, it was a comedy of errors! I thought it would be so easy. I was so wrong! We may do a modified holiday breakfast and dinner and really celebrate when Annie gets home next week. We've got church on Sunday too, I always love Easter services.

We will probably not all be going to service on Sunday. The boys have really dug in their heals this year about going to church. Bill and I will go and then we are having some family and neighbors over for dinner. I love to cook for the holidays so it's a good thing. Tomorrow is lacrosse all day! I invited some of Jameson's team mates over for a bbq. It should be fun.

The sun is shining and I am celebrating 5 days of walking in a row!!! :)

Happy Easter to all! We do call it Good Friday here in the States Lisa. I hope you enjoy your time with your sister and family. Denise-WTG on walking 5 days straight. Tomorrow my hubs starts an 8 week plan to better health. I am going to up my activity level too. Haven't done too much of anything since I earned my black belt last July. Not even tennis (used to play very consistently).

Emily-So excited for you to have your new kitchen completed! It looks so, SO good. I love Easter services too (as long as I don't have to go to the "Sunrise" Service).

We are in St. Louis visiting my inlaws. Had a lovely day with breakfast downtown, then a visit to the zoo, a surprise run-in from my dear and very close scrappy/tennis friend (who moved away to Kansas) and her family, some yummy custard at a local favorite place called Ted Drewe's and then back to the inlaws for some scrappy play with May's kit. Eee!!

Tomorrow will will go to early service at my hubby's childhood church and then back to inlays for Easter dinner and twiner/teener version of an Easter egg hunt. Then home. My dad visited all of last week and that was lovely too.

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend! We are having some fabulous sunny weather. Yesterday almost felt like summer! We've been spending lots of time outside. Working in the garden, getting the trampoline up and riding bikes. Tuva got her own "balance bike" (with no pedals) and she really loves it!

Tomorrow is the first "normal" day after the Easter weekend and I'll be stalking the mail man for sure, to see if my May kit shows up! :D

Denise, yay on the walking! I haven't been walking, but I think the garden work compensates at least partially. My body was sooo tired yesterday evening, and it felt good to have spent so many hours outside.
