Favor to Ask about Location?
I love to catch up on what everyone is up to even though I don't respond sometimes. But I find myself wondering "Wonder what part of the world she lives in?" Especially those who post in my Eastern Daylight Time in the middle of the night. I love to discover bits and pieces about people and where they are from.
Margarethe and Ally have been having a great discussion about Norway/Sweden areas. I learn so much from you gals.
So anyway, can you add where you from in your location profile? Even a region/state is close enough if you have privacy concerns.
I'm from Mid-Michigan - Hold up your right hand and you will find the State of Michigan. Go to the middle of your palm and you get the general vicinity. For those of you in Europe or elsewhere, Michigan is the state in the United States that is surrounded by the Great Lakes.
So where are you from? And can you please add it to your location?

Re: Favor to Ask about Location?
Hi Laura,
Great question.
I'm in the south of England.
We don't really live near anywhere so I never really know where to say as no one would have heard of our little town. I always say near London to people outside of the UK as that would make th most sense but we are 30miles out of London and don't consider ourselves from that area. You automatically think big city, but it's really green where we are. Quite countrified.
But if you look at a map of England we are sligtly to the left of London. Takes us just under and hour to get down to the coast.

Wow Lisa! You don't consider 30 miles outside of London as near London? I guess that goes to show you the wide open spaces of the U.S. I didn't know that was where you are located! COOL! I think this is going to be a FUN question/answer thread

I live in southern Ontario, about 15 minutes from the Niagara Falls border to NY state.
Good question and idea, Laura. I love how international CD is and I like knowing where everyone is from, too.

I think I have my location as Denver, I'm a little to the north, about 15-20 minutes out of the city proper.
I love knowing whereabouts people live too, it is fun to know you have friends all over the world!

Great idea, Laura!! I love how widespread the hands of Cocoa Daisy reach. And when a couple of daisies are able to get together for coffee or to scrap, it makes me so happy! Such a cool community we have here!
I live in California, 45 minutes north of Los Angeles in Santa Clarita. If you are a roller coaster fan and are familiar with Magic Mountain, a Six Flags theme park, that's where I am!!

How beautiful and picturesque!
Laura, what a nice town - and you even have a curfew for the children!
This is fun. Thanks for starting this.
I currently live in Portland, OR. It's on the banks of the Columbia River and the Willamette River. I live in a section that is between both rivers in North Portland. Portland is unique in that it has neighborhoods that have distinct personalities. There are areas of beautiful old homes and LOTS of parks. I live across the street from a small park where there are soccer fields, a baseball diamond and play equipment for the younger children. It's a popular place for people to bring their dogs and let them run loose. Haven't seen a dog fight yet and I've lived here almost a year.

Re: Favor to Ask about Location?
I have fond memories of Buffalo and Niagara! I was born in Buffalo, lived about 10 minutes from the falls in North Tonawanda until the age of 10. It was my favorite place to go - and I especially loved the gardens on the Canadian side of the falls.
Aside from seven years in the suburbs of Chicago though, I've always called Arizona home. But Arizona is fascinating. In a matter of 2 hours, you can travel from the Sonoran Desert and 120 degree temps (the only place in the world you'll find a Saguaro Cactus) to 7000 feet elevation and the cool Ponderosa Pine forests of Coconino National Forest and 30 degree cooler temps. I spent most of my life as a desert rat living in Phoenix near here:

Most of Phoenix is actual city... this is just a preserve area.
But last year moved to here:

We live just south of a smallish (60K population) town called Flagstaff, but more in a rural area where we are surrounded by national forest land. I LOVE it here ... LOVE it.
Anyway, now I want to visit Norway in a BAD way! LOL

I think Laura, because it's such a hassle to get to.
It might be just 45mins to get to but on a bad run can take hours, plus during the week before 6pm you have to pay to go past a certain point.
Trains are expensive and it's busy and full of tourists

Give me the quiet green country any day
