Re: do you run in runs?

My intervals that are supposed to be "fast" isn't really - I just don't have the stamina to do so just yet. So far I've walked when I'm supposed to be going "slow" and jogged when supposed to be going "fast" during interval training. Are you using Runkeeper? Really liki...

Re: do you run in runs?

Thanks, Anna! I had a vast improvement only today - "ran" 2.4k last Tuesday and had longer periods of walking during that "run". Did intervals on Friday + 45 minutes walk (part of the regimen) and a long walk yesterday (10k, not part of the regimen) and today when doing the same ...

Re: do you run in runs?

I started running last week. It's horrible! Doing it as part of the whole "I'm turning 30 next year and am having a 1/3rd life-crisis". Got a Jawbone Up24 two weeks ago and decided to put it to good use. switched from Lifesum to My Fitness Pal for meal tracking and started a Runkeeper acco...

Re: HEY, It's July!!! CHAT THREAD 06/30 - 07/06

Denise, I use the Lifesum app and it has helped me loads getting me more focused on my eating. It can track walking, but for the rest of it, you have to search your exercise and add it yourself. I use it mostly for calorie count. Lisa, I have until Aug 13 and then school starts for the students at t...

Hi, girls! Sounds like you've got your whole week planned, Lisa. And I do hope Hollie has a lovely birthday next week :) Sounds like you need to take care of yourself, Denise. Listen to your body and let it rest. Hope you feel better soon! Hope your basement stays dry, Gem! Sounds like she's made ma...

Re: What are you looking forward to this week?

I was looking forward to conduct the final oral exam for 6 of my sociology and social anthropology students, and now that that's over, I can say it went very well! The rest of the week is mostly about wrapping things up at work - both for me and my students. Now looking forward to the end of year ce...

Re: QOTD June 12

HS graduation is not a big deal in Norway, except for " russ ". I didn't have any parties thrown for me when I graduated with my master's a couple of year ago. Coming from a working class family, I'm the first to go to graduate school and my mom didn't know that it's customary to celebrate...

Sounds like a nice weekend's ahead of you, Lisa! IT'S MY FIRST WEEKEND WITHOUT ANY MARKING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE SINCE AUGUST! Can you sense that I'm more than a little excited? Re: Growing out the gray...

You look lovely, Denise!

I have to say that I do like that salt and pepper-look - wish I had dark hair so that I could be like that one day :)

Re: Growing out the gray...

Not with gray, but with my (I think) blonde. I haven't had my own hair color since I was 12, but am now, with the help of a hairdresser, slowly bleaching streaks and growing the dark color out.

Re: Keeping Healthy/Weight Loss

Thanks Patricia. yesterday just out of curiosity my height, weight etc... and in order to loose 2lb a week I would need to have 490 calories a day. I don't think that will happen :D I was on a 800 calories a day regime for 3 weeks and nothing happened. My weight stood still. I wasn't particularly h...

Re: Hello Weekend

Sounds like you have the weekend all planned out, Lisa! Best of luck to Hollie on her exams! It's good it's the weekend! I was at work at 6:45am and then conducted 6 oral exams (social studies) all afternoon - done around 8pm. Finally home now, have vacuumed and thrown out 2 months of news papers (w...

Re: Easter Weekend

In Norway it's called Langfredag (long Friday). Not much planned... the weather is supposed to be nice this weekend, and the sun is out today. Hope to relax a bit in the sun, read and rest. School's been out all week, but I put in a few hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Not so much yesterday. ...

Re: Keeping Healthy/Weight Loss

I started using an app called Lifesum 4 weeks ago, with the goal of losing weight and the end goal-weight being 57kg (128lb). I don't know how much I weighted when I started 4 weeks ago, as we didn't have any scales at the time, but I estimated it to be 67kg (147lb), in reality more like 65-66. Peop...

Re: A little update

I agree, Ashley - I enjoy reading other countries' curriculums and such myself and compare the age vs skill levels, etc. A bit geeky, I know ;) Just wanted to pop by and say that I talked with my head of department today (Annual accomplishment summary & development review, is that the correct te...

It's so good to see you here Margrethe! I've missed you! Huge congrats on the job position! Oh, and - this is a job I can keep for life. Rea...

Oh, girls! Your replies make me so happy! I too hope I get back to scrapbooking soon, but as for now, work is taking up so much time... And next year I'll follow my second years into their final year of high school and will teach final year Norwegian, a tough course with lots of assessments (not to ...
