July 2014 Stamps
Image Description
At first glance this month's stamp selection may look to be all about travel, but really it's more about adventure, the adventures of everyday life. Yes, they can be used for cards, mini albums and scrapbook pages about traveling and vacations, but with a little creative word play these stamps can take on a whole new meaning.
I adore the Winnebago stamp and thought it would be perfect as an anniversary card or a "just because" card.
The Vintage Travel set with its globe, tag and suitcase is perfect for masculine birthdays, graduations or as a good luck card for someone starting a new job.
I created a fun little everyday "I love you" card with the Slug a Bug stamp, I can see making Valentine cards with this stamp too. Another thing I like about these stamps is that they are mostly outlines, so you have the option of stamping them on patterned paper or coloring them in. I stamped the Winnebagos and the Bug on the Crate Paper brick patterned paper to give them just the slightest bit of pattern and then I colored in just a few areas (the smoke on the Winnebago and the tires and roof of the Bug) with colored pencil. The suitcase I stamped on plain paper so that I could color it in completely with colored pencil. Watercolor pencils, paints or markers would also work.
